We recommend postnatal clients book in from 6 weeks for either a postnatal core assessment or pelvic floor assessment prior to joining our reformer classes. This will give us the opportunity to assess your pelvic floor and deep abdominal activation, provide education and advice on return to exercise and discuss your goals to determine which postnatal class or classes would be beneficial to you.
We offer postnatal reformer Pilates. Bubs are welcome to join us at any of these classes until they are up and mobile (for safety reasons!).
All of our postnatal classes are run by a qualified physiotherapist and are therefore designed to safely start strengthening your core, improve pelvic floor function and regain muscle tone. This is very important as some exercises can worsen abdominal muscle separation and increase a women’s risk of developing incontinence during the postnatal period.
