Reformer REHAB: All classes will be run by a physio, as such you are entitled to a health fund rebate. These classes are suitable for beginners or people with injuries looking for more specific exercises suited to their condition. If you haven’t used pilates equipment before, we recommend you start with these classes.

Pilates is a very versatile style of exercise that can be adapted for those just beginning, to the advanced.
Pilates and back pain
Control of the deep abdominal muscles plays an integral part in the health of your back. Those with a history of lower back pain have been shown to have diminished strength and control in the muscles that stabilise the spine. Isolating and strengthening these muscles in a controlled way can dramatically improve day to day function and reduce the frequency and intensity of back pain.
Are the classes right for me?
All classes at Freshwater Physio are conducted in small groups. Pilates suits those with injuries as well as those looking for general strength and health benefits.
Before you attend your first class, an initial 1-1 session must be booked with one of our physiotherapists. This allows us the opportunity to assess your situation and ensure you are able to contract your core muscles appropriately.
